About the role

We're looking for a motivated and approachable individual to join us as a Personal Academic Tutor, supporting students to achieve their best at the University of Sunderland.


In this 12-month fixed-term, part-time role (0.3FTE), you will work closely with programme teams and colleagues across the University to provide personalised support, guidance and encouragement to students throughout their academic journey. You'll be a trusted first point of contact, helping students navigate challenges, stay engaged with their studies and make the most of the opportunities available to them.

The ideal candidate will be student-focused, proactive and an excellent communicator, able to build strong relationships and create a positive impact. You will be confident in engaging with students 1:1 and in groups, both in person and online, and comfortable working collaboratively with colleagues to ensure a high-quality student experience. Organised, adaptable and approachable, you will bring a genuine passion for supporting others to succeed.
