Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Assistant to provide essential support in various caregiving environments. The ideal candidate will have experience in assisted living, nursing homes, or similar settings, with a strong focus on patient care. This role is vital in enhancing the quality of life for seniors and individuals requiring assistance, including those with Alzheimer's and dementia. The Personal Assistant will be responsible for ensuring comfort, safety, and well-being while promoting independence.

Duties

Provide personal care and support to clients in assisted living or home care settings. Assist with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and grooming. Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs. Administer medication as prescribed and monitor clients for any side effects. Support clients with mobility, including heavy lifting when necessary. Engage in behaviour management techniques to ensure a calm environment. Offer companionship and emotional support to enhance clients' mental well-being. Drive clients to appointments or social activities as required. Maintain a clean and safe living environment for clients. Document care provided and report any changes in client condition to the appropriate personnel.

Requirements

Previous experience in care, care is highly desirable. Knowledge of first aid practices and medication administration protocols. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with clients and their families. A valid driving licence is preferred but not essential Ability to perform heavy lifting and assist clients with mobility challenges. Compassionate nature with a commitment to providing high-quality patient care. Flexibility to adapt to changing client needs and schedules. Certification in caregiving or nursing is an advantage but not mandatory.
