Personal Assistants (Support Workers) have the most important role within Enable by making a positive difference every day to the lives of the people we support. No two days are the same for our Personal Assistants but what we can guarantee is that you will be supporting someone who requires support to achieve their goals and outcomes - whatever they may be!



Each person we support has different support requirements, so your role as Support Worker may include assisting them with various aspects of personal care, moving and handling or positive behavioural support whilst expanding their social networks and connections.



Enable creates a bespoke team around every individual we support, and our team of Personal Assistants work collaboratively to ensure the safety, wellbeing and aspirations of the people we support are met.

Laura

Laura spends a lot of her time at home and likes to spend time alone. Laura requires full support with medication and personal care and it is important that any personal assistant has a good sense of humour- this will help us get along. Laura enjoys watching games shows and cartoon, as well as, playing board games independently. Laura has some complex health issues including Epilepsy and Cerebral Palsy so it is important that someone responsible and caring is able to accommodate manual handling needs. Laura does not enjoy change and can get stressed around new situations so any staff member should be understanding and adaptable to help support Laura in these situations. Laura shares support, so it is essential that you are able to work in a team environment.

Rose

Rose is very independent and should be encouraged to maintain this independence. It is important to Rose to get out in the community and socialise with her friends who live locally. Rose enjoys going shopping, going to church and the cinema. Rose will require support to maintain a healthy lifestyle, support with medication and health needs. Rose should be prompted to have a healthy diet and enjoys cooking healthy meals with staff.
