Extremely rewarding opportunity to become part of our daughters life - supporting her with an empowering approach as she grows up into adulthood.
If you are caring, confident and ready to make a real difference whilst supporting a fun and sociable young woman to live her best life - we would love to hear from you.
About the role
We are looking for a kind, proactive and confident personal assistant to support our vibrant and sociable 18 year old daughter who has Downs Syndrome.
She enjoys home comforts, and loves spending time at home - a real home bird! She does enjoy getting out and about on her electric scooter when the opportunity arises, with support.
She is quite a strong character, and likes to take the lead and wants to "rule the roost" so needs clear rules and boundaries. She is very much able to express her opinions.
She does not see herself as having a disability and will take every opportunity given to her.
She enjoys watching TikTok videos, using her IPAD, doing her hair and makeup, and anything pink and girly.
The role will be to support our daughter within the family home, and also out and about.
There will be times when overnight support is required in our family home.
The role will include:
1. Providing personal care including assistance after toileting
2. Encouraging independence and decision making in daily activities
3. Supporting her to engage in social activities
4. Promoting a positive, respectful relationship allows her personality and independence to shine.
5. Providing overnight support within the family home on occasions
