Job Overview

We are seeking a highly organized, proactive, and compassionate Personal Assistant to provide comprehensive support to a busy individual. This role involves managing a variety of administrative, household, and personal tasks to ensure smooth day-to-day operations. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, a positive, can-do attitude, and a good sense of humor.

Attend multi-agency meetings and feel comfortable contacting relevant services when required.

Help organize and maintain files, documents, and correspondence to ensure everything is easily accessible.

Assist with complicated phone calls, emails, and other communications, responding or redirecting them as needed.

Assist with household management, including running errands, grocery shopping, and coordinating home maintenance or service appointments.

Provide personal assistance with tasks such as creating and sticking to a budget, scheduling medical appointments, and meal planning or preparation (if required).

Nudge and prompt the individual to stay focused on the right tasks, ensuring important things are prioritized.

Offer friendly reminders and support to keep the individual on track with daily activities.

Provide meal prompts when necessary.

Handle sensitive information with discretion, professionalism, and care.

Offer support during meetings or at home, ensuring everything runs smoothly.

Share a bit about yourself to help the individual relate and feel more comfortable.

Skills

No professional experience required--personal experience or a willingness to learn is preferable.

Excellent organizational and time-management skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks at once.

Strong verbal communication skills and attention to detail.

Ability to maintain discretion and confidentiality when required.

Tech-savvy and comfortable using technology to play video games or listen to music with the individual.

Ability to plan fun days out--such as concerts, roller coasters, or trips with Wilbur, the individual's almost fully trained Assistance Dog (a large standard poodle).

Comfortable with household management duties, including shopping, scheduling, and liaising with service providers.

A proactive problem-solver with a positive attitude and strong work ethic.

Ability to remain calm and adaptable in difficult or unpredictable situations.

A valid driver's license and a car with business insurance.

A sense of humor is essential--this role requires someone who can keep things light-hearted and informal, in line with the individual's preferences.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys taking initiative, managing diverse tasks, and making a real difference in someone's daily life. If you're looking for a rewarding, dynamic position and have a passion for helping others stay organized and efficient--and can bring a smile to the job along the way--we would love to hear from you!
