The Lion Works School is situated within the BCP local authority. We offer an academic and vocational specialist learning provision across KS3, KS4 and Post 16 aiming to reduce barriers to enable successful learning experiences and outcomes. There are a variety of routes a student can take, which include GCSEs, BTECs and other accredited qualifications whilst building confidence, improving wellbeing, enabling self-regulation and increasing attendance. Purpose of the Role
This role is to provide confidential/administrative support to the headteacher. To carry out duties in a professional manner and in accordance with school policies
Key Accountabilities & Duties
As PA to the Headteacher:
Provide effective and timely administrative support to the headteacher.
Organise and attend meetings, ensuring the headteacher is well preared
To manage and co-ordinate the headteachers diary and organise meetings as appropriate
Maintain the school Single Central Record ensuring information is entered in a timely manner, is correct and kept up to date at all times for all individuals required to be recorded
Maintaining the school training record, ensuring that training is set and completed within the deadlines, and records is kept up to date at all times
Working under the guidance of HR to manage the initial recruitment process for all staff.
To manage school budgets and keep petty cash
Screen phone calls enquiries and requests and handle them when appropriate
To draft letters and reports for the headteachers approval
Maintain organised and accurate records in efficient files and online system
Manage verbal, written and electronic communications on behalf of and in conjunction the headteacher.
Establishing and maintaining good professional relationships
Support the headteacher to manage their workload, advising on priorities where appropriate
To attend staff and leadership meetings as appropriate
To undertake any reasonable duties as required
To meet deadlines and manage workload effectively
To comply with individual responsibilities in accordance with the role for health and safety in the workplace
Support the work of the school administrators and provide cover for their duties if required.
Support with the general effective administration of the school under the direction of the senior leadership team.
At times, greet visitors and maintain a safe and effective process for signing visitors in and out of school
Liaise with external contractors and make appointments as directed by Headteacher
Undertake such other reasonable duties as the Headteacher may require from time to time and review this annually with the Head Teacher.
Participating in the School's appraisal process and to undertake any training that may be appropriate
Take appropriate responsibility to ensure the health and safety of self and others.
Other Duties:
Attendance at consultation evenings, open evenings, and award events
Completion of relevant paperwork to deadlineAttend staff development events as appropriate
General administration relevant to the role
