We're seeking a kind, reliable individual to provide practical and emotional support to an older woman living with Alzheimer's. This part-time role (8 hours per week) offers meaningful work in a calm, respectful home environment.

About the Role

You'll support the client with everyday tasks that help maintain her comfort, dignity, and autonomy. Responsibilities may include:

Light housekeeping and meal preparation Assistance with medications Friendly conversation and companionship Supporting routines that promote wellbeing and independence Accompaniment on short outings

About You

You value quiet dignity and respectful care. Formal qualifications aren't essential--what matters most is a calm presence, good listening skills, and a practical mindset. Ideally, you:

Have experience supporting older adults, professionally or personally Are patient, emotionally intelligent, and discreet Can work independently and follow clear guidance Are a reliable, practical, trustworthy with good communication skills

Location: Clients home in Galashiels 13.20 per hour 8 hours per week (flexible scheduling by mutual agreement) Mileage negotiable for outings only (Driving licence desirable but not essential) 5.6 weeks annual leave on a pro rata basis PVG and references required
