Job Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistant to provide essential support to individuals in their homes or our small rural Nursing Home. The ideal candidate will be responsible for assisting clients with daily living activities, ensuring their comfort and well-being while promoting independence. This role requires effective communication skills and the ability to follow care plans meticulously.

Responsibilities

Assist clients with personal hygiene tasks, including bathing, dressing, and grooming. Help with mobility and transfers, ensuring safety at all times. Prepare nutritious meals and assist with feeding when necessary. Administer medication as prescribed and monitor health conditions. Maintain accurate records of care provided and report any changes in client status to healthcare professionals. Engage clients in social activities to promote mental well-being and companionship. Follow care plans developed by healthcare professionals to ensure personalised support. Communicate effectively with clients, families, and other healthcare team members to coordinate care. Drive clients to appointments or social activities as required.

Qualifications

Previous experience in home care or a care home setting is required. Strong communication skills in English are required for effective interaction with clients and their families. Ability to understand and implement care plans accurately. Basic IT skills for maintaining records and communicating via digital platforms. A valid driving licence is required for transporting clients as needed. A compassionate nature with a commitment to providing high-quality care.
