Personal Care Assistant

We are recruiting for a Waking Nights Personal Care Assistant for our client based in Portsmouth who is looking for compassionate individuals to join their current team of PA's.

Start: ASAP

Rota: 9pm-9am

Location: Portsmouth, PO5

Pay: 12.86 per hour including double ups

Free accommodation whilst on shift

Holidays: 5.6 weeks holiday pro rata

A Full UK Driving licence is essential for this position to drive our client's vehicle

Care experience is not required as full training in our client's particular requirements will be provided.

About our Client:

Our client is a 29-year-old male who has a physical disability, Spinal Muscular Atrophy(SMA) Type II.

You will be required to work as part of a team of PAs who provide 24/7 care and support.

Our client is confident in his own ability and lives independently with support in Personal Care.

Night Time Care

You will be required to provide the highest quality of care and access to community(shopping, events, appointments etc).

Our client has a gastrostomy, medication management, non-invasive night time ventilation, secretion management as well as needs regarding assistance with domestic tasks. He knows what needs to be done and will direct you.

Qualifications and Requirements:

A full and clean UK driving license (Essential)

Confident driver as you will be expected to drive the client's vehicle Excellent sense of humour and ability to not take life too seriously (Essential)

Physical fitness for transfers

A caring and patient nature

Flexible and gentle

Strong of character and morals

Strong communication and listening skills

Mature and responsible attitude

Fluent in English

Clean and tidy appearance

Training and Development

:

Full training in the client's particular needs will be provided,making this an ideal opportunity for individuals without previous care experience. You will also have on-call support from our client coordinator team.
