Overview

Mosaic 1898 Direct Payments Support Service are assisting a woman near Barwell to recruit two female support workers.

The position is for 24 hours per week (per PA), comprised of 2 x 12 hours shifts, with times and days to be agreed between yourself and the employer, including weekends when needed. There is potential for more hours once good working relationships are established.

The PA must be over 25 (due to car insurance purposes) and a confident driver as the role includes driving her wheelchair adapted vehicle. It is a requirement that the PA have a good level of physical fitness and be an animal lover and confident around animals as there is a variety of animals in and around the home.

The PA would support the woman with her hobbies and interests, as she enjoys gardening, especially growing her own vegetables, eating out, shopping trips, and visiting friends.

Personal Specification

Previous experience in a 1:1 care role with a wheelchair user would be an advantage, as would experience in hoists, and manual handling. However, if the most suitable candidate is not trained, training will be given as required.

The duties of the role will involve personal care, household duties, assistance with wheelchair, and food preparation, such as:

Assist clients with personal hygiene tasks such as bathing, dressing, and grooming. Support clients in daily activities including meal preparation, medication reminders, and light housekeeping Implement and follow care plans tailored to each client's specific needs. Communicate effectively with clients and their families to ensure understanding of care requirements Drive clients to appointments or social outings as needed, ensuring their safety during transport Foster a supportive and friendly environment that encourages independence and dignity Drive her to, and support, during all social activities
It is a requirement that the PA fits into the family, therefore takes the time to get to know and understand the needs of the lady. In return you will be working for a caring family, who will communicate effectively with you and be welcoming you into their home.

The PAs who are employed in this role will be given a monthly rota in advance. The family would like PAs who are professional but also comfortable enough to feel part of the lady's life.

The rate of pay is 13.00 to 14.00 per hour with time and a half or double pay on some Bank Holidays and other selected festive days.
