I am seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistant to provide assistance and support to myself, a tetraplegic 42 year old Male in my daily activities. As a Personal Care Assistant, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for myself. If you have a passion for helping others and making a difference, we encourage you to apply. This is not a normal care job. You will be joining a small, tight knit team who are dedicated to making my life the best it can be. Whether that is attending festivals and gigs, accompanying me on holidays at home and abroad, helping me spend meaningful time with my family and friends or in times of need, being by my side in hospital making sure that I am looked after correctly. I have full capacity, live a full life and expect a lot from my care staff. In return, I give a lot back, I am compassionate, understanding and loyal and will do anything to help to the best of my abilities.

MUST BE A DRIVER

Hours are negotiable: I have up to 40 hours per week available for the right candidate

Duties:
- Assist the team with personal hygiene tasks, such as bowel care, catheter care, showering, grooming, and dressing
- Provide assistance with mobility and hoist transfers
- Administer medication according to prescribed schedules
- Prepare and serve meals based on dietary needs and preferences
- Perform light housekeeping duties, including laundry and tidying up
- Accompany me to appointments or social outings
- Engage in meaningful conversations and provide emotional support
- Monitor and report any changes in my health or behavior

Skills:
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Empathy and compassion for individuals requiring personal care assistance
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively
- Strong attention to detail and observation skills
- Patience and understanding when working with individuals with varying needs
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
