We are looking for two female personal assistants (PA's) to join a small team to support a happy and relaxed, good-humoured, transgender woman. The shifts available are mornings, a minimum of four hours per week, plus bank hours to cover illness and annual leave of other workers. It is hoped one worker will be able to work alternate Friday mornings to mirror hours of another worker. There will also be two four hour shifts on alternate weekends followed by alternate weekdays. The aim is for this delightful lady to remain independent in her own home as she is living with a diagnosis of Motor Neurone Disease (MND).
If you have any work/life experience of this condition, that would be an advantage. She has enjoyed playing different instruments throughout her life and has an interest in a wide variety of music and appreciation of nature and the beach. It would be ideal, though not essential, to find someone like-minded in this respect, to establish common ground. Initially you will be required to support with practical tasks within the home and attending medical appointments, so you must be a car driver, with use of your own vehicle.
As a positive, understanding relationship is fostered, there will be more personal tasks involved e.g. bathing and dressing. Meal preparation, medication administration and possible healthcare tasks will potentially become part of this much valued role, the hours for which will increase with time.
