Personal Care Assistant

To provide care and support with waking night shifts



Hello, I am a gentleman with a diagnosis of Transverse Myelitis, and I have a tracheotomy. I live in Ponteland with my wife. I have 1:1 and 2:1 support with a 24/7 care package.
I am looking for an enthusiastic and committed Personal Care Assistant to join my care team to cover 1 x 12 hour waking night shift per week (Friday). This will increase in April 2026 on a rota of 2 x 12 hour waking night shifts one week and 1 x 12 hour waking night shift week two. We are looking for someone who is flexible and who is willing to cover for holidays/sickness.

Main DutiesTo support with moving & handling and transfers with a full-bodied hoist for positional changes. Personal Care to include, support with showering, bathing and dressing, oral care and toileting Support with meals as I have a mashed diet Administer medication via a PEG and manage the PEG Tracheotomy care and oral suction To support to access the local community and assistance via a specialist wheelchair. Support to maintain a habitable home.

Rates of pay:
Waking hours are 17.23 per hour
Out of pocket expenses will be met by the Employer (excluding travel to and from work). This post is subject to a satisfactory Enhanced DBS check and references (Cost to be met by Employer)
