Waking Night Support Worker - Garstang (Female Only)
16.00-17.00 per hour (19,968-21,216 per year) + 2/hour weekend uplift
Permanent | Part-time | 2 x 12-hour night shifts (Mon & Tues, 9pm-9am)
We are recruiting an experienced and compassionate Waking Night Support Worker to join a dedicated care team supporting a young woman with complex health needs in her family home in Garstang.
Due to personal care requirements and the wishes of the client and her family, this role is open to female applicants only.
The Role
2:1 waking night support in a family home
Continuous monitoring of wellbeing and seizure activity
Personal care, repositioning, and safe use of hoisting equipment
Medication administration, including via PEG
Supporting feeding and nutrition
Assisting with bedtime and night routines
Attending to the client when she is awake, keeping her happy and comfortable, and helping to settle her back to sleep, including reading to her
Maintaining a clean, safe environment (laundry, cleaning, equipment care)
Working closely with family members and the wider care team
Working within a family home requires an awareness that your workplace is part of a private family environment. You are expected to demonstrate respect, discretion, and empathy at all times. You will also be working with family.
About You (Essential)
Previous waking night support experience - essential
Experience in complex care
Confident with manual handling and hoisting
Experience supporting epilepsy and/or PEG feeding
Calm, reliable, and emotionally resilient
Professional and respectful when working in a private family home
Comfortable supporting the client's Christian faith (reading books, playing music)
Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (rural location)
Enhanced DBS (required)
Desirable
Level 2 Diploma in Health & Social Care or equivalent
Experience with acquired brain injury
