We are looking for a kind, patient, and physically able person to support our son, a bright and engaging 15-year-old boy with autism and anxiety.
About the individual:
Developmentally around age 8
Loves walks, the pier, swimming, bowling, arcades (especially Mario Kart!), history and game show
Enjoys asking questions and interacting with others
Needs constant adult guidance when out in public, as he is not independent
Has a Blue Badge to support accessible parking
Tall and strong, while not aggressive, he needs someone who can physically manage him and gently redirect him when needed
What We're Looking For:
A reliable, active, and compassionate individual who can build a positive relationship
Someone who is happy to be authoritative
Someone who can provide clear, consistent guidance and stay calm under pressure
Experience with autism and/or anxiety/young adults preferred
Someone physically able to walk longer distances and be attentive at all times
Every other Sunday but can be flexible over the weekends.
4 hours every other Sunday with some additional days during the half terms and holidays
Additional hours during school holidays and half terms
Start date: Mid-September
Main aim is supporting in the community going out and doing what he enjoys and promoting independence and safety.
