Job Purpose:
Social care opportunity has become available to cover maternity leave until April 2026, for a young gentleman who has a neurological physical disabilities, slow speech, and is severely sighted , living in a family home .

Wymondham, NR18
Details:
Personal Care -
Assisting with toileting, occasional showering, and undressing.
Moving and Handling
- Using hoist and moving safely in the wheelchair.
Meal preparation
- Plating and warming food up. Then feeding and assisting with drinking.
Companionship -
socialising and having conversations. Having a laugh.
Person specification:

Essential requirements:
Experience with personal care
Experience with moving and handling and using a hoist
Experience working with someone with physical disabilities

Desirable requirements:
Someone who is young at heart
Has a GOOD sense of humour
Outgoing,chatty similar interests ,eg comedy ,laughter .
Understanding of the gentleman's needs
Summary terms and conditions:
The rate of pay for this position is 15ph
Hours and times of work:
8-12hrs a week, which would involve two Evenings e.g. 5pm-9pm and an occasional afternoon.
Other duties will be discussed if/when deemed appropriate but everything that will be expected will be explained prior to acceptance of the position.
The annual holiday entitlement for this position will be equivalent to the work I would normally expect to be done during 5.6 consecutive weeks.
Access to free training for employed workers.
If this job requires; Manual Handling, Handling of hazardous chemicals and/or Food Handling you will be required undertake annual training.
The post is subject to the following:
A satisfactory enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) check, the cost of which will be covered by the employer.
Satisfactory references from two referees, one of which must be your current or last employer.
Completion of a satisfactory probationary period of 6 months.
