Personal Care Assistant

Job type: Full time

36 hours = 3 x 12 hour shifts per week.

Alternating - 7am to 7pm + 10am to 10pm + 7pm to 7am

Over a 4 week rolling rota

- Pay rate 14.50 per hour

For hours worked between 11pm and 7am 20.00 per hour

To provide complex care for a 53-year-old gentlemen who has a rare neuromuscular condition,

OPDM.

This gentleman has full capacity and makes all his own decisions on how is care is delivered. You will carry out all of the same duties as a Care Assistant. However, you will may also deliver some specialist clinical care including PEG Feeding Stoma Care, Non-Invasive Ventilator Care, Nebuliser Care, Cough Assistance Machine, Mouth Care and a Communication Device. We provide full training on all these procedures.

You will need an absolute minimum of one-year previous care experience, either with a care provider, a nursing home or hospital setting, or looking after a family member with complex care needs. Have a good understanding and experience in skills like moving and handling.

Duties:

- Assist clients with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
- Perform light housekeeping tasks
- Follow a full care plan based on this individual's needs
- Keep accurate records of care provided

Qualifications

- An NVQ 2 or equivalent is desirable.
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with client and his family
- Proficiency in IT for record keeping and communication purposes
- Fluent in English to ensure clear and effective communication
