Duties
Assist client with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and hoisting
Administer medication following prescribed care plans and medical instructions
Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary requirements
Support clients with light housekeeping tasks to maintain a clean and safe environment
Provide companionship and emotional support to promote mental well-being
Monitor and document changes in health status or behaviour for case management purposes
Drive clients to appointments or outings as required, ensuring safe transportation
Manage behaviour effectively through behaviour management techniques
Assist with specialised care needs including Alzheimer's, dementia, or hospice care
Follow health and safety protocols, including first aid procedures when necessary
Skills
Proven experience in nursing home, care home, or home care settings is highly desirable. However onsite training can be given
Knowledge of medical terminology and medication administration procedures
Strong understanding of Alzheimer's, dementia, and hospice care practices
Excellent caregiving skills with a compassionate approach towards patients of all ages
Ability to handle heavy lifting safely when assisting with mobility or transfers
Effective communication skills for working with clients, families, and healthcare professionals
Valid driving licence for transporting clients safely to appointments or outings. not essential
Familiarity with creating and following personalised care plans
Capable of managing challenging behaviours with patience and professionalism
Basic first aid certification is preferred but not essential; training can be provided if necessary
