One Sixth Form, Ipswich 37 hours per week, 40 weeks per year - Permanent Salary: 29,093 - 32,654 per annum (Dependent on qualifications and experience) Actual Salary: 25,329 - 28,430 per annum
We are seeking an enthusiastic candidate to join our team as a Personal Progress Tutor to provide essential support and guidance to learners across various college departments. This role plays a key part in nurturing student success and supporting their personal and academic development throughout their educational journey. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of tutoring and mentoring principles, a passion for empowering learners, and preferably experience in Further Education (FE) and pastoral care. A minimum of a Level 4 qualification in Education or a related field is required.

Key responsibilities include providing individualised pastoral support through Personal Development Reviews, coaching and mentoring students, and setting SMART targets for personal growth. The tutor will also facilitate weekly Next Steps sessions on current issues, monitor and follow up on attendance, particularly for targeted students or groups, and maintain accurate records. Additional duties involve addressing safeguarding concerns, supporting student support plans, referring students to services such as careers advice, and maintaining clear communication with stakeholders to track progress and manage behavioural or wellbeing issues.
