The role of the Personal Tax Trainee is to support the Tax Department and gain experience whilst studying towards the ATT qualification.
The role will include both general tax compliance work, office administration, as well as taking on the responsibility of processing self-assessment tax returns from within a portfolio of clients.
Duties will include:
Assisting with Tax Compliance including preparation of personal tax returns, and company benefits forms P11D, and liaising with HMRC regarding clients' tax affairs
Overseeing ad hoc administrative duties within the department
Assisting colleagues and directors with queries and projects
Liaising with clients and colleagues
Dealing with correspondence from HMRC on various client matters
To be considered for this opportunity you must have:
A keen interest in the accountancy & tax sector
Excellent communication and numerical skills
Strong IT skills (some experience using CCH tax software would be preferable, but not essential)
Experience in working within an office environment (would be an advantage)
A proactive attitude towards learning new skills and be able to monitor and organise workload effectively
Ability to work well within a team and independently
As a Tax Trainee, you will have good organisational and problem-solving skills as well as a motivated and proactive approach to work.
