We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Personal Tutor to join our academic team. Purpose of the Role:



The aim of personal tutors is to provide holistic, pastoral support for students' academic, personal, and professional development, helping with lecture understanding, understanding feedback, improving study skills (writing, time management, revision), and setting academic goals.

Key Responsibilities:



- Establish close working relationship with the students and build a rapport with each of the students

- Frequently and regularly contact the students and update their status on the IALP and invite them for meetings and maintain logs of the contacts

- Recommend a list of students who are identified at risks of termination for not making sufficient progress (for example not completing one third of their assignments in due course)

- Be aware of the policies and procedures related to the College and various relevant handbooks including student handbooks

- Prepare a monthly report for the Course Coordinator outlining the plan to tackle non-submission, reducing referral rates and increasing attendance rates

- Monitor and record students' progress against the individual assessment and learning plan (IALP);

- Set and meet the targets related to submission rates and pass rates

- Assist students in understanding the assignment brief

- Collate and distribute academic materials which will help students in writing their assignments

- Assist students in articulating and producing their assignments

- Any other duties as required by the Course Coordinators and/or Head of Programme and Academic Monitoring.

Qualifications and Experience:



- A relevant postgraduate degree in Business/hospitality management or a related field.

- Teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, Certificate in Education) is desirable.

- Experience in teaching at the higher education level.

- Ability to inspire and motivate students.

- Ability to work in a team environment.
