Pet Care Adviser - Part-Time - Ipswich

Pets Place are currently looking for a part time, diligent, hard-working and trustworthy member of staff to join their front of house team, based at Ipswich Veterinary Centre.

The successful candidate will demonstrate strong inter-personal skills, a 'can do' helpful attitude and preferably have some previous veterinary or pet retail-based employment experience.

Role

As a member of our client services team, you'll consistently ensure that all our customers have a positive experience during every visit. Whether you're the friendly face on the till, or advising them on the shop floor, or helping over the telephone, or sharing your animal care knowledge, or ensuring our displays are always as they should be, or stocking shelves so everything's easy to find, you'll be as efficient and helpful as possible so that our customers want to keep coming back.

There may also be the opportunity to cover at times on Reception - therefore, experience in a similar role would be advantageous.

You'll have the opportunity to continually improve your performance through constant learning and development and, of course, you'll have lots of contact with animals on a daily basis.

Working Times

Part-time flexible hours 15-20 hours per week, including 1 in 3 Saturdays and Sundays and including Bank holidays.

Responsibilities

Meeting, greeting and liaising with our clients on the shop floor, ensuring effective customer service Answering questions and sharing your animal care knowledge Assisting with telephone enquiries Taking payments on the till Ensuring the pet shop is clean and tidy with careful rotation of stock

Skills / Experience

Retail (preferably animal or veterinary based) - 1 year or more Customer facing - 1 year or more A keen interest in animals

Package

This is a permanent part time position including 1 in 3 Saturdays and Sundays and including Bank holidays. Salary dependent upon experience Staff discount after qualifying time Pension scheme after qualifying period On-site parking Regular social events
