Job Summary


We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Mathematics Teacher to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality mathematics instruction to students, fostering a positive learning environment, and promoting a love for mathematics. We require candidates to hold a recognised teaching qualification, along with QTS or QTLS status. The successful candidate will be teaching GCSE Maths to 16-19-year-old resit students. This role requires strong communication skills and the ability to engage students of varying abilities, including those in special education.

Duties



Develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans that align with the curriculum and educational standards. Teach mathematical concepts ranging from basic arithmetic to advanced topics, ensuring clarity and understanding among students. Utilise behaviour management techniques to maintain a conducive classroom environment. Provide tutoring and mentoring support to students needing additional assistance in mathematics. Assess student progress through regular testing, assignments, and feedback, adapting teaching methods as necessary. Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the overall educational experience and contribute to school-wide initiatives. Engage in scientific research related to educational practices in mathematics where applicable. Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with teaching strategies and curriculum changes.

Requirements



A degree in Mathematics or a related field is essential; further qualifications in education or special education are advantageous. Proven experience in teaching mathematics at the secondary level is preferred. Strong skills in tutoring, behaviour management, and mentoring students of diverse backgrounds and abilities. Familiarity with biochemistry concepts is a plus for interdisciplinary teaching opportunities. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to proofread educational materials effectively. A commitment to fostering an inclusive classroom environment that supports all learners. Ability to conduct laboratory sessions if applicable, integrating practical experiences into the mathematics curriculum.

Pay: 29,520.28-56,689.09 per year
