Main Purpose of Job
To support the Superintendent pharmacist in ensuring the safe and smooth running of the Pharmacy.
This role reports to the Superintendent Pharmacist, and has a key role working closely with all staff (clinical and non-clinical) across the Health Centre, as follows:
Liaising with all Pharmacy Staff in particular the Pharmacy Manager and Superintendent Pharmacist to ensure day to day safe running of the Pharmacy
Liaising with the Superintendent Pharmacist to ensure implementation of the long-term business goals.
Working with Partners and the Management Team
Interacting with partner agencies and external organisations as required
Maintaining good working relationships with e.g. nursing team, GP's
Supporting all members of the Health Care Team with all aspects of information regarding medications.
Clinical Advice on the use of medication
The Post holder will be responsible for supervising the following staff members:
Duties of the successful applicant will include (this list is not exhaustive)
Supervising staff in response to business demands and to ensure safe running of the Pharmacy
Ensuring a high quality personable service is provided to all customers
Ensuring staff adhere to legal and statutory legislation, and work is undertaken within the regulatory framework of the General Pharmaceutical Council
Carrying out the day-to-day activities of a Pharmacist; Including New Medicine Service, Pharmacist referrals, accurately checking customer prescriptions and answering queries from patients and other Health Care Professionals.
Updating patient medication lists according to discharge summaries.
Other duties
Participate as required in any other duties reasonably considered appropriate to the post by the partners or practice manager.

Health Clearance
Health clearance is required for this appointment. Applicants must complete a medical questionnaire, return it to the Occupational Department and, if required, undergo a medical examination before appointment.
Disclosure and Barring Service Check
A Disclosure and Barring Service check and disclosure will be required before appointment
for all posts with access to children or vulnerable adults or where the post holder has access to patient information.

You are required to maintain confidentiality of any information concerning patients which you have access to or may be given during your work, in accordance with current policy on confidentiality at the GP Practice sites you work at.

Be registered as a Pharmacist with the GPhC
Able to make decisions, lead, motivate and inspire staff

Build effective working relationships with customers, partners, external bodies and colleagues
Demonstrate the ability to use own initiative and work efficiently under pressure

Has a Independent prescriber Qualification
Experience of undertaking projects aimed at improving processes or services
Experience in a Dispensing Doctor - Pharmacy hybrid
Experience of working to deliver the Healthy Living Pharmacy model
Experience of the Pharmacy Quality Payments Scheme
