Responsibilities
Dispense prescribed medications accurately and efficiently in accordance with legal and organisational guidelines
Provide expert consultation to patients and healthcare professionals regarding medication usage, potential side effects, and interactions
Monitor patient responses to prescribed therapies and adjust medication plans as necessary in collaboration with medical teams
Maintain comprehensive records of prescriptions dispensed and patient interactions in compliance with confidentiality standards
Ensure the safe storage, handling, and disposal of pharmaceuticals within the pharmacy
Stay updated with the latest developments in pharmacology, especially relating to ICU treatments and advanced medication administration techniques
Assist in inventory management by ordering, receiving, and stocktaking pharmaceutical supplies
Educate patients on proper medication use, including dosage, timing, and storage instructions
Qualifications
Fully qualified Pharmacist registration with the relevant regulatory body
Proven experience working within an ICU setting is highly desirable
Strong knowledge of anatomy and physiology relevant to pharmacology and patient care
Demonstrated expertise in medication administration across diverse clinical environments
Excellent communication skills with the ability to provide clear guidance to patients and healthcare professionals
Organised with meticulous attention to detail to ensure accuracy in dispensing and record keeping
