About the Role

We are currently seeking an experienced

Band 5 Pharmacist

to support the pharmacy team within an NHS Mental Health Trust in London. This is an excellent opportunity to gain or expand your mental health experience in a supportive multidisciplinary environment.

You'll assist in the safe, effective, and timely supply of medicines to patients and clinical areas, supporting both inpatient and community mental health services.

Key Responsibilities

Support the provision of pharmacy services across inpatient and community mental health units. Dispense, check, and supply medicines in accordance with NHS and Trust policies. Provide accurate medicines information to clinical staff and service users. Assist with medicines reconciliation and stock management. Ensure safe handling, storage, and documentation of controlled drugs. Work alongside the multidisciplinary team to promote safe and effective medicines use. Participate in audits, service improvement, and patient safety initiatives.

Skills & Experience Required

Registered with the GPhC

as a Pharmacist. Previous

NHS pharmacy experience

desirable (mental health preferred but not essential). Sound knowledge of medicines management principles. Strong communication and organisational skills. Ability to work accurately under pressure within a multidisciplinary environment. Confident using electronic prescribing systems (e.g., EPMA, RiO, or similar).

Previous work within

mental health, rehabilitation, or step-down services

ward-based clinical reviews or discharge planning
