We are looking for individuals that can work within current legislation and accepted professional and ethical standards in line with the General Pharmaceutical Council. The key duties are summarised below:
Provide exceptional customer service to all those that come in to contact with
Ensure the Medicines (Pharmacies) (Responsible Pharmacist) Regulations 2008 are adhered to at all times
To act as the Responsible Pharmacist when required and to ensure that the principles outlined in the DH publication 'The Safer Management of Controlled Drugs' (CDs) are adhered to all times
Clinically screening prescriptions to ensure safe, optimal and cost-effective use of medicines ensuring all prescriptions are legal, endorsed, counted and dispensed accurately according to local procedures and protocols
Accuracy checking of any dispensed medicines and investigate any errors
Support the team in the delivery of their duties, providing leadership, coaching and support
Be an active team member in relation to seeing and implementing improvement opportunities and solving day-to-day operational issues
To apply for the role, we are looking for individuals to have the following education and experience. However, if you feel you have most of these, we still encourage applications:
Registered as a pharmacist with the General Pharmaceutical Council
A proven commitment to continued professional development
Two years post registration experience (desirable but not essential)
Post graduate qualification such as a Clinical Pharmacy diploma is desirable but not essential
Experience of acting as Responsible Pharmacist in a dispensary
Awareness of health, safety and hygiene.
IT literate and a competent user of the MS Office suite of products or other relevant programmes
