Role Overview
We are seeking an
experienced Pharmacy Manager
to take full responsibility for the day-to-day management and clinical leadership of the pharmacy. The successful candidate will ensure the safe, efficient and compliant delivery of pharmaceutical services while leading and developing a high-performing team. This role is ideal for a confident manager who is comfortable balancing clinical excellence, operational performance and team leadership.
Key Responsibilities
Overall responsibility for the safe and effective running of the pharmacy
Act as the Responsible Pharmacist in accordance with GPhC regulations, ensuring legal, safe and ethical practice at all times
Ensure compliance with GPhC standards, NHS requirements and internal SOPs
Lead, motivate and develop the pharmacy team
Oversee dispensing processes, accuracy checking and patient safety
Manage stock control, ordering and minimising waste
Deliver and grow NHS and private clinical services
Maintain high standards of customer service and patient care
Manage rotas, performance reviews and staff training
Build effective working relationships with local healthcare providers
Candidate Requirements
Essential:
GPhC-registered Pharmacist
Proven experience as a Pharmacy Manager or in a senior pharmacy leadership role
Strong knowledge of community pharmacy operations and NHS services
Confident leader with excellent communication and organisational skills
Commitment to patient safety and professional standards
Desirable:
Experience in delivering NHS clinical services (e.g. NMS, DMS, hypertension case finding, contraceptive service, vaccinations)
Experience and/or willingness to learn to deliver private clinical services (e.g. Weight-Loss Clinic, Travel Clinic)
Commercial awareness and service development experience
Familiarity with pharmacy systems and governance processes
