A long established, family owned and run community pharmacy group is looking for an experienced Pharmacist to join our team to manage a pharmacy in Houghton-le-Spring. The ideal candidate will be passionate about their profession and enthusiastic to deliver all the Advanced Services and Private services the pharmacy currently offers and to continue to expand these services in the future. Our preference is for someone who can work full time but for the right candidate there may be a degree of flexibility.

Salary from 53,000 to 60,000 per year depending on experience and based on a 40 hour week.

Key Responsibilities

Check medications dispensed by pharmacy staff Check prescriptions for accuracy Ensure legal compliance in the pharmacy, reviewing dispensing labels, doses and procedures in shops Supervise staff and provide training Provision of Advanced Pharmacy Services Provision of Private Pharmacy Services Assist in the management and running of the pharmacy Advise patients on prescribed medications, their usage and potential side effects Advise patients on medical issues, referring them to other services as needed Provide and assist in the running of pharmacy services Communicate with doctors about prescriptions and resolve queries Assist in the running of the delivery service Manage pharmacy stock levels Be aware of changes to legislation Use and maintain computer systems
Skills and specifications

GPhC registration Certified and experienced to provide Advanced Pharmacy services including Covid and Flu vaccinations, Contraceptive Service, BP Service, NMS, DMS and Pharmacy First Service. DBS Checked Outstanding communication and teamwork skills IT skills Attention to detail Flexibility Ability to communicate effectively with patients and other medical professionals Understanding of Prescription Drug Laws and Regulations Management skills Enthusiastic and motivating Committed to the role
