Job Summary


We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Pharmacist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the pharmacy team and ensuring that all the essential and advanced services are managed in an effective and efficient manner . In addition the Pharmacist will play a vital role in optimising patient outcomes through accurate medication management and consultation.

In terms of service provision the Pharmacy is proactively involved in delivering the Pharmacy first service and many other NHS and Private Pharmacy services such as weight loss and Travel health and vaccination services.

With the support of a second pharmacist / locum pharmacist , ACT and Pharmacy technicians the successful candidate will be offered the opportunity to be involved in many of the NHS and Private Pharmacy services making this role both flexible and an ideal opportunity to learn new skills and gain excellent experience in a supportive and inspiring environment.

Responsibilities



Dispense medications accurately and efficiently, ensuring compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements. Provide expert advice on medication usage, side effects, and interactions to patients and healthcare professionals. Provision of medication reviews/ new medicines service to ensure appropriateness and safety for each patient. Collaborate with medical staff to develop comprehensive treatment plans tailored to individual patient needs. Monitor patient progress and adjust medication regimens as necessary, particularly in critical care settings. Maintain accurate records of prescriptions, patient interactions, and inventory management. Educate patients on proper medication administration techniques and the importance of adherence to prescribed therapies. Stay updated on new medications, therapies, and industry best practices to enhance patient care.

Requirements



A valid pharmacy degree from an accredited institution. Registration with the relevant pharmacy regulatory body. Strong knowledge of anatomy and pharmacology, particularly in relation to ICU settings. Proven experience in patient care and medication administration is highly desirable. Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex information clearly to patients and colleagues. Strong organisational skills with attention to detail in a fast-paced environment. Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team while maintaining professionalism under pressure.
