Duties:
- Review and interpret prescription orders to ensure accuracy and appropriateness of medication therapy
- Dispense medications accurately and efficiently
- Provide medication counseling to patients regarding proper use, side effects, and potential drug interactions
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans
- Monitor patient medication therapy for effectiveness and safety
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation
- Stay up-to-date with current pharmacy practices, new drugs, and regulations
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of pharmaceuticals, drug therapy, and medical terminology
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in dispensing medications
- Effective communication skills to interact with patients, healthcare professionals, and pharmacy staff
- Ability to work independently and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment
- Proficient computer skills for medication order entry and record keeping
- Knowledge of insurance billing processes and third-party reimbursement
