Role Overview
As an Accuracy Checking Technician (ACT), you will play a crucial role in the pharmacy team, responsible for verifying the accuracy of dispensed medications and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and best practices. Your attention to detail and commitment to patient safety will help maintain the quality of our pharmacy services and enhance patient trust in our care.
Key Responsibilities:
Accuracy Checking: Review and verify dispensed medications against prescriptions to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with pharmacy protocols and regulatory standards.
Medication Management: Assist in the preparation and dispensing of medications, including prescription and over-the-counter products, while adhering to established procedures and protocols.
Quality Assurance: Participate in quality assurance initiatives, conducting checks and audits to identify areas for improvement and ensuring adherence to best practices in medication management.
Documentation: Maintain accurate records of medication dispensed, including patient information, prescription details, and accuracy checks performed, in compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies.
Collaboration: Work closely with pharmacists and other pharmacy team members to support efficient workflows and address any discrepancies or issues related to medication dispensing.
Patient Interaction: Assist in providing online medication counselling to patients, addressing any questions or concerns regarding their medications and ensuring they have the necessary information for safe use.
Regulatory Compliance: Stay updated on current pharmacy regulations and guidelines, ensuring all activities comply with GPhC standards and best practices.
