We have an exciting opportunity for a Pharmacy Assistant to join our Pharmacy team at HMP Leeds, a busy category B prison located in Leeds Centre.



This is a rare opportunity to join our close knit Pharmacy team, where you will join a unique working environment, where no two days are the same!

Hours


This is a full time role, working an average of 37.5 hours per week / 10 shifts per 2 weeks. The team work on a 2 week rota, with alternate weekends.
Weekday shifts are 7am - 4pm / 8am - 4pm.
Weekend shifts are 8am - 4pm.



Salary






This position is full time, you'll receive an annual salary of 24,669 - 28,690 per annum - depending on experience.

What you'll be doing





As a Pharmacy Assistant, your responsibilities will vary. You will



Support the Pharmacy Technicians and Pharmacy Manager, as well as the wider healthcare team Label and dispense medications, and prepare prescriptions Second check controlled drugs Contribute to services such as medicine reconciliation, managing stock medicines and transportation of medicines Provide support to ensure a safe and secure medicines management service, following policies, procedures and standard operating procedures Provide a timely and efficient service to the prison wings. Receive prescriptions and stick returns from wing based clinical areas. Collect orders from suppliers from the Main Gate and arrange collection of return. Participate in dispensing of prescriptions.

Our New Pharmacy Assistant Will Have:


An NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Dispensing Experience within a pharmacy environment - whether in the community, hospital or a prison / secure setting Experience within a patient / customer facing role
