The Pharmacy Clinical Trials Team at King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust have an exciting opportunity to start a career path in hospital pharmacy.



We are looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated and adaptable Pharmacy Assistants to join a friendly and supportive team in a forward-thinking department; committed to delivering high quality patient care.

The post holder will work alongside pharmacists and technical staff .The post holder will assist in the coordination of the day-to-day activities in Clinical Trials and will ensure that the administrative duties relating to clinical trials are carried out in accordance with departmental policies, procedures, and drug trial protocols.



You must be highly organised and motivated, possess good communication skills and capable of meeting multiple deadlines.



We expect candidates to have some experience working in public service or dealing with customers and are able to work carefully, accurately and methodically in a busy environment.

To carry out general administration and reception roles.

To be able to carry out daily housekeeping duties.

To be able to use pharmacy computer systems correctly and enter data accurately.

Receipt of clinical trial medication.

Participation in ongoing stock control systems for medicines used within trials including stock checks, stock rotation and quality checks. This includes using both computerised and paper-based stock control systems and the processing of paperwork in accordance with audit requirements.

Participation in monthly tasks which include expiry date checks for clinical trials medication, temperature checks, quarantine medication review, etc.

Participation in clinical trial medications returns and destruction processing.

To ensure that data is stored and archived appropriately in accordance with local and regionally agreed guidelines.

To be able to use initiative to appropriately prioritise work.

To maintain Pharmacy files to a high standard. This includes file preparation for new trials, receiving and appropriately filing trial related paperwork, retrieving and collating documentation and producing reports required by research sponsors.

To assist with recording/processing of amendments as required.
