Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Pharmacy Assistant or Trainee Pharmacy Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the pharmacy operations by assisting pharmacists in providing excellent patient care and ensuring the efficient dispensing of medications. This position requires a commitment to maintaining high standards of accuracy and professionalism while interacting with patients and healthcare professionals.

Responsibilities

Assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications accurately and efficiently. Provide exceptional patient care by answering queries and offering guidance on medication usage. Maintain an organised inventory of medications, ensuring that stock levels are monitored and replenished as necessary. Process prescriptions, including verifying patient information and medication details. Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, including health and safety standards. Support the pharmacy team in administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and managing patient records. Assist in medication administration under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist when required. Participate in training and development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge related to pharmacy practices.

Qualifications

Previous experience as a Pharmacy Assistant or in a similar role is preferred but not mandatory. Knowledge of medication administration processes is advantageous. Strong interpersonal skills with a focus on patient care and customer service. Ability to work effectively within a team environment while also being self-motivated. Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail to ensure accuracy in medication dispensing. Must possess good communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with patients and colleagues.
