We have an exciting opportunity for a Pharmacy Assistant to join our Pharmacy team at HMP Bullingdon, a category B Prison located in Oxfordshire.
HMP Bullingdon is a busy male prison with a capacity for around 1100 inmates. We are recruiting for a Pharmacy Assistant to support the pharmacy team with dispensing, labelling, date checking, supporting colleagues with queries, stock checking etc. This would be a patient facing role on occasions.
Hours
Monday to Friday
0830 to 1630
No weekends, no bank holidays
Salary
This position is full time, you'll receive an annual salary up to 29,723 per annum FTE - depending on experience.

What you'll be doing
As a Pharmacy Assistant, your responsibilities will vary. You will

• Complete general dispensary duties and stock management
• Be working as an active member of the Pharmaceutical team to ensure delivery of the pharmaceutical service
• Provide a timely and efficient service to the prison wings
• Receive prescriptions and stick returns from wing based clinical areas
• Collect orders from suppliers from the Main Gate and arrange collection of return
• Participate in dispensing of prescriptions.

Qualifications required

• NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Service Skills
• Medicines handing experience desirable not essential
• Level 2 English and Maths or equivalent
• A non-judgmental and compassionate approach
• Excellent communication skills
• Good IT skills and IT literacy
• Ability to work within a busy environment
• Ability to work unsupervised whilst following policy and procedures
