You will be required to work over time to cover holidays and work alternate Saturdays.

We are looking for a responsible Pharmacy Dispenser who is capable of working independently, who has experience with the dispensing of medications and knowledge in the use of pharmacy equipment. The successful candidate will have an excellent eye for detail, and will be trained to ensure that each prescription is filled accurately, in accordance with the customer's doctor's notes. The ideal candidate for this position will also have a strong ethical approach with a commitment to confidentiality and patient safety.

Responsibilities:

Perform front counter duties as defined by state and national regulations. Answer customer's questions concerning medications and allergies. Cut and package medications to ensure proper use and potency of medication. Communicate with doctors, pharmacists or technicians to obtain or verify information such as dosage, side effects, drug interactions or alternative medications that would be more effective or safer for a specific patient. Monitor inventory levels of drugs and send orders to the pharmacy. Make changes to prescriptions such as dosages, frequency of refills or routes of administration as necessary to ensure maximum effectiveness for patients. Prepare for any emergencies that may arise which may require the dispensing of medications before the pharmacist arrives. Treat patients with respect and understanding.

Pay: 12.21 per hour
