Due to maternity leave a position has become available for an experienced Dispenser Level 2 or higher to work in Gunnislake Pharmacy for a fixed term contract for 9-12 months. If permanent hours become available the post holder will b encouraged to apply.
This role will involve working within our Pharmacy team so experience in community pharmacy or a dispensary is essential.
The salary range starts at 13.02PH - 14.02 PH and goes up in accordance to experience and level of qualifications held.
We are looking for at least 30 hours a week - Mon, Tues, Wed and Fridays (7.5 hour days)
Our hours of business are from to 08:15 to 18:15 with some extended hours to 20:00 and one Saturday morning per month (8.30-12.30) working in our dispensary.
Essential experience /skills
Dispenser level 2 or higher
GCSE's Maths and English c or above (or equivalent)
Teamwork
Ability to follow SOP and protocols (procedure is in the acronym of SOP)
Dealing with the public
Recent experience in either a dispensary or pharmacy
Desirable Experience
Knowledge/ use of ProScript/SystmOne

Primary Duties and Areas of Responsibility:
Printing prescriptions for prescribing patients; generating repeat prescriptions for patients; dispensing medication using SystmOne and checking the dispensing of colleagues.
Ordering drugs and appliances from suppliers. Telephone contact with wholesaler and pharmaceutical companies as necessary.
Ensuring correct and appropriate storage and handling of drugs and dressings received/returned as necessary.
Managing vaccine orders, storage, temperature, stock control and CD register.
Maintaining required record keeping relating to drugs and patients' repeat prescriptions, updated as appropriate.
Handling cash and balancing the cash register on a weekly basis. Balancing payments of prescription charges against prescription supplied.
Endorsing and preparation of prescriptions for submission to the Prescription Pricing Authority, including end of month totals.
Acting as liaison between patients, doctors, nurses and other members of the Primary Healthcare Team as appropriate and necessary in the role of a Dispenser.
Dealing with requests for acute (non-repeat) medication, and gaining authorisation for such items to be dispensed.
