Job Summary

The Pharmacy Dispenser plays a vital role in the healthcare team, responsible for preparing and dispensing medications to patients under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist. This position requires a strong focus on patient care, attention to detail, and adherence to safety protocols to ensure the accurate delivery of pharmaceutical services.

Duties

Accurately prepare and dispense prescriptions as per the pharmacist's instructions. Maintain an organised inventory of medications and supplies, ensuring proper storage conditions. Assist in the administration of medications as required, ensuring compliance with safety standards. Provide excellent patient care by answering queries regarding medications and health-related concerns. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to optimise patient outcomes and medication management. Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and pharmacy policies. Maintain accurate records of prescriptions dispensed and medication administration.

Skills

Proven experience as a pharmacy technician is highly desirable. Strong knowledge of medication administration practices and protocols. Excellent patient care skills, demonstrating empathy and effective communication. Attention to detail with strong organisational abilities to manage multiple tasks efficiently. Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while also being self-motivated. Proficient in using pharmacy software systems for managing prescriptions and inventory.
