We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Pharmacy Dispenser to join our dynamic healthcare team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for accurately dispensing medications, providing exceptional patient service, and supporting clinical teams in various pharmacy operations. Your expertise will ensure safe medication handling and contribute to optimal patient care in fast-paced hospital or LTC (Long-Term Care) settings. Duties
Prepare and dispense prescribed medications with precision, following all safety and aseptic techniques
Verify prescriptions against medical orders, ensuring accuracy and completeness
Assist with medication intake processes, including medication administration and IV infusion preparation
Maintain detailed records of medication dispensing, patient interactions, and inventory management
Support critical care and acute care teams by providing timely medication support and ensuring compliance with medical terminology standards
Ensure adherence to hospital protocols for aseptic technique during medication preparation and delivery
Collaborate with pharmacy technicians and healthcare staff to optimize patient care and medication safety
Requirements
Proven experience in pharmacy dispensing, preferably within LTC pharmacy or hospital environments
Strong knowledge of medical terminology, medication administration procedures, and aseptic techniques
Prior experience with IV infusion preparation and handling critical care medications is highly desirable
Excellent patient service skills with a focus on patient care and safety
Familiarity with hospital or acute care settings, including intake procedures and medication management workflows
Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced environments while maintaining attention to detail
Certification or licensing as required by local regulations for pharmacy dispensers or technicians
