Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Pharmacy Dispenser to join our team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring the safe and effective dispensing of medications to patients. You will work closely with pharmacists and other healthcare professionals to provide excellent patient care and support medication administration processes.

Responsibilities

Accurately dispense prescribed medications to patients, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements. Assist in the preparation of medication orders and maintain accurate records of all transactions. Provide information and advice to patients regarding their medications, including usage, side effects, and storage. Collaborate with pharmacists to manage inventory levels, ensuring that medications are stocked appropriately. Conduct regular checks on medication expiry dates and assist in the disposal of expired or unused medications. Maintain a clean and organised work environment, adhering to health and safety standards. Support the training of new staff members as required, sharing knowledge on best practices in medication dispensing.

Requirements

Previous experience as a Pharmacy dispenser. Strong understanding of patient care principles and medication administration protocols. Excellent attention to detail with strong organisational skills. Ability to communicate effectively with patients and healthcare professionals alike. Proficiency in using pharmacy software systems for managing prescriptions and inventory. A commitment to maintaining confidentiality and adhering to ethical practices within the pharmacy setting.
