Omnicare Pharmacy is looking for a qualified dispensing assistants or technician to work within our branch in Deans, Livingston. We will also consider applicants who have a general interest in a career in pharmacy. The position will be to support existing staff and pharmacist manager to ensure a high level of pharmaceutical care is delivered to patients.

The dispensary role will involve all aspects of pharmaceutical care from prescription reception, advice, dispensing of prescription medication and stock management. Training will be provided to the candidate, including on our PMR system, all dispensary processes and health and safety modules. This will also be a good opportunity to develop your career as we continue to adopt new technologies to help improve the processes within pharmacy.

Automation supports each branch with the central production of dosette boxes. This allows staff to concentrate on providing pharmacy services to customers. The branch in Deans benefits from a dispensing robot to help with accuracy and efficiency

Criteria for the position:

Previous pharmacy experience. Working towards or successful NVQ2/NVQ3 qualifications (or equivalent) A Medicines Healthcare Assistant qualification is preferred but not essential The drive and ability to build relationship with colleagues, patients and other healthcare professionals. Have great communication skills. Comply with data protection in the delivery of pharmacy services Be able to work as part of a team to delivery a standard of pharmacy services
Salary will be based on previous pharmacy experience.
