Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Pharmacy Dispenser to join our team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and efficient dispensing of medications to patients. This position requires a strong commitment to patient care, as well as excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

Accurately dispense medications as prescribed by healthcare professionals. Provide exceptional patient care by answering queries and offering guidance on medication usage including over the telephone. Assist in the preparation of medication orders, including compounding and labelling prescriptions. Maintain accurate records of medication dispensed and ensure compliance with pharmacy regulations. Collaborate with pharmacists and other healthcare staff to optimise patient outcomes. Monitor inventory levels and assist in stock management, including ordering supplies when necessary. Ensure the pharmacy environment is clean, organised, and compliant with health and safety standards. The role will require the pharmacy dispenser to also assist on the pharmacy counter to include sale of retail products and medicines, and providing medical advise within their competency.

Qualifications

Previous experience as a Pharmacy Counter Assistant or Dispenser to include either Medicine Counter Assistant or NVQ Level 2 qualification. Strong knowledge of medication administration and patient care practices. Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with patients and healthcare professionals. Detail-oriented with strong organisational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently. Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment. A commitment to maintaining confidentiality and adhering to ethical standards in pharmacy practice.

Pay: 12.21-14.00 per hour
