We are seeking a dedicated, detail-oriented, and hardworking
Part-Time Pharmacy Dispenser
to join our team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring the safe and efficient dispensing of medications to patients in a busy, well-organised pharmacy. This position requires a strong commitment to patient care, the ability to work independently using initiative, and a willingness to learn new skills.
Responsibilities
Accurately dispense medications as prescribed by healthcare professionals, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory standards.
Assist in medication administration, offering support and guidance to patients regarding their prescriptions.
Maintain an organised stock inventory, including ordering, receiving, and storing medications appropriately.
Provide exceptional patient care by answering queries and advising on medication usage.
Collaborate with pharmacists and healthcare staff to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Keep accurate records of dispensed medications, maintaining confidentiality per data protection regulations.
Participate in ongoing training and development, including training in flu and COVID vaccinations, private blood testing, and ear wax removal services.
Commit to working
at least one Saturday per month (3 hours)
.
Be familiar with PharmacyFirst services including the 111-urgent supply service.
Skills
Proven experience as a Pharmacy Dispenser (required).
Strong knowledge of medication dispensing procedures and pharmaceutical terminology.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on patient care and service.
Ability to work independently using initiative in a fast-paced environment.
Highly organised with the ability to multitask effectively.
Team player who is open to learning new skills and taking on training opportunities.
Share new innovative ideas relating to pharmacy practice.
