Main duties of the job
Exciting opportunity for full time Pharmacy dispenser to join a fast paced and dynamic team at the Outpatient Pharmacy, Warwick Hospital.
The Pharmacy Dispenser plays a key role in ensuring efficient and high-quality customer experience is maintained. Striving to deliver a safe, effective and caring service for patients and other service users whilst playing an active role in business development.
About us
SWFT Clinical Services is a wholly owned subsidiary of the South Warwickshire University NHS Foundation Trust (SWFT). The company provides a number of services such as outpatient pharmacy facilities at Warwick and Stratford and Nuneaton hospitals; estates and facilities management at Stratford hospital, Acorn House and Lillington Health Hub; private patient service and consultancy services to NHS Trusts.
Subject to the Company and individual's performance, an annual discretionary bonus will be awarded.
There is automatic enrolment to the Company pension scheme, with the Company contributing 5%.

Job description
Job responsibilities
Prepare labels using the pharmacy computer system Wellsky and correctly assemble outpatient, private and oral chemotherapy prescriptions, ensuring each item is accurately dispensed and in the correct packaging, according to standard operating procedures (SOP).
Dispense and prepare TTO medicines to ensure patients are discharged safely and efficiently.
Stock management to include ordering, receiving and checking off stock. Loading the robot with stock and querying and working with procurement team to resolve stock queries and discrepancies.
Remove expired, unwanted and overstocked drugs and inform a senior member of staff.
Empty the returned patient/ or unwanted medication and sort drugs for destruction or recycling whilst following COSHH regulations and SOP.
Handing out medicines, over the counter sales of medicines and relevant stock procurement duties to maintain and improve retail sales.
Minimise waiting times whilst maintaining professional standards.
Strives to achieve and maintain best professional best practice and works towards achieving business KPI targets
Assures service quality and patient safety, by following SOPs and Health and Safety policy
Offers suggestions to improve the way we work utilising best practices.
Maintains excellent working relationships and good communications with patients and Trust employees. Contributes to the teamwork ethic so enabling the best possible service and care to patients.
Knowledge skills and experience required:
Essential
NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Services
GCSE at Grade C or above in Maths and English
UK Pharmacy dispensing accreditation and experience
Desirable
Previous outpatient pharmacy experience
Previous hospital pharmacy experience
Healthcare assistant course - sales of over-the-counter medicines.
Dispensing of hospital prescriptions.
Communications and Working Relationships:
Engender a customer first culture across the organisation ensuring high standards of professional customer service are delivered at all times within the pharmacy.
To respond to telephone and face-to-face queries of a routine pharmaceutical nature from patients or their representatives and to refer queries to the pharmacist when appropriate. Receive prescription fees from outpatients (NHS and private), or complete exemption declaration forms and assist outpatients to determine their prescription charge exemption.
To respond to symptoms described by customers by following agreed protocols and using own knowledge and judgement.
