Job Overview

McKay Pharmacy are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Pharmacy Dispenser to join the team at our branch in East Belfast, which is based beside a busy group of GP surgeries and with well established relationships within the local community.

In this role, you will be responsible for assisting in the preparation and dispensing of medications, ensuring that all prescriptions are filled accurately and efficiently. You will play a vital role in patient care by providing excellent service and support to both patients and healthcare professionals. You would be working alongside a talented and knowledgeable team of pharmacists and technicians to deliver a range of commissioned pharmacy services.

Ideally, we are seeking a full-time role of 40 hours per week, working from Monday to Friday from 9.00 am - 6.00 pm with a 1 hour lunch break. However, we would consider applications from those looking for part-time hours. Duties

Accurately dispense medications as per prescriptions from qualified healthcare providers. Assist in the administration of medication, ensuring compliance with safety protocols. Maintain an organised inventory of pharmaceuticals, including ordering and restocking supplies as necessary. Provide guidance and information to patients regarding their medications, including usage and potential side effects. Collaborate with pharmacy technicians and other healthcare staff to optimise patient care. Ensure that all pharmacy operations comply with relevant regulations and Standard Operating Procedures. Maintain accurate records of medication dispensation and patient interactions.

Essential Criteria

Previous experience in a busy pharmacy setting. Strong attention to detail and organisational skills are essential for managing prescriptions effectively. Excellent communication skills to interact with patients and healthcare professionals confidently. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of accuracy. Level 2 or equivalent in Pharmacy (or willing to work towards the qualification).

Working knowledge of McLernons Pharmacy Software System Qualified Pharmacy Technician
