We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented and 6 Pharmacy Technician to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the pharmacy's operations by assisting pharmacists in providing exceptional patient care and ensuring the safe and effective administration of medications. This position requires strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of service.
Key Responsibilities:
Support wards, ED, and admissions
Dispense medications and complete e-prescriptions
Review patient notes using Careflow
Check stock levels via TMJ Insight
Contribute to smooth patient flow in the Urgent and Emergency Department
Requirements:
ACT-qualified (must be shown on CV or with certificate)
Previous hospital experience
Own indemnity insurance
Declare any pre-booked annual leave
Informal conversation with Xyla Clinical Lead prior to CV submission
Duties
Assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications accurately and efficiently.
Provide excellent patient care by answering queries regarding medications and health-related concerns.
Maintain accurate patient records and medication inventories, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements.
Process prescriptions, including verifying patient information and medication dosages.
Support medication administration by preparing dosage forms as directed by the pharmacist.
Ensure the pharmacy environment is clean, organised, and compliant with health and safety regulations.
Collaborate with healthcare professionals to optimise patient outcomes through effective medication management.
Qualifications
Previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician is preferred but not essential; training will be provided.
Strong knowledge of medication administration practices and principles of patient care.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact positively with patients and healthcare professionals.
High level of attention to detail and ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Proficient in using pharmacy software systems for managing prescriptions and patient records.
