As a
Pharmacy Technician
, you'll play a vital role supporting our Clinical Pharmacists, GPs and wider team to improve medicines safety, optimise prescribing, and ensure patients get the best out of their treatment.
Your Role
In this varied role, you will:
Support the
repeat prescribing process
, including reviewing medication requests and ensuring appropriate monitoring is in place.
Assist with
medicines reconciliation
, especially after hospital discharge, to ensure continuity of care.
Be a key point of contact for patients with queries about their prescriptions and medication use.
Support the
implementation of local and national prescribing guidelines
, formulary updates and safety alerts.
Contribute to
audits, quality improvement projects and data collection
to enhance prescribing safety and practice performance.
Help deliver
patient education and medicines optimisation initiatives
, supporting individuals to manage their own health more confidently.

What You'll Need
Registration as a
Pharmacy Technician with the General Pharmaceutical Council
.
Relevant experience in primary care, hospital pharmacy or community pharmacy.
Good working knowledge of medicines management processes.
Excellent organisational, communication and problem-solving skills.
Confidence working both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Desirable:
Experience of working in a GP Practice or Primary Care Network setting.
Understanding of SystmOne or similar clinical systems.
