Main duties of the job
As a Pharmacy Technician at Northdown and Dashwood Surgery, you will play a vital role in supporting medicines management throughout the practice. Working closely with GPs, our clinical pharmacist, nurses, and administrative staff, you will contribute to enhancing patient safety, streamlining repeat prescribing processes, and supporting cost-effective prescribing.
Your responsibilities will include ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations and safety standards while actively contributing to the smooth running of the medicines management system. Your expertise will help us deliver high-quality care and improved outcomes for all our patients.

We are a friendly, forward-thinking, and supportive training practice serving around 25,000 patients across two sites. Our team is extremely welcoming and dedicated, consisting of:
6 GP partners (3 male, 3 female)
Advanced Clinical Practitioners (ACPs) and Paramedics

Working closely with our GPs, pharmacists, nurses, and administrative team, you will contribute to improving prescribing systems, medication safety, and patient care.

  • Supporting medicines reconciliation post-discharge and after clinical appointments
  • Supporting audits and medication reviews
  • Assisting with long-term condition management protocols
  • Liaising with community pharmacies and other healthcare providers
  • Supporting the clinical team with drug monitoring and prescribing alerts
  • Helping patients understand their medications and promoting adherence
