The ideal candidate for the role will have:
BTEC or NHQ level 3 in Pharmacy Services or equivalent
Current registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council
Previous GP Practice experience
At least three years post-registration experience
Good Clinical knowledge
Effective communication skills
The commitment to continue to learn and develop.
The confidence to work as part of a busy GP practice
The ability to adapt to be able to convey information to patients and fellow healthcare professionals.
Main duties of the job
Clinical:
Participation in daily preparation of repeat prescriptions to ensure high quality, safe and timely repeat prescribing.
Provide supervision, training and professional leadership to the practice administrative staff.
To perform synchronisation of medication supplies; perform amendments to issue durations of prescriptions to match actual medication use duration; co-ordinate and lead efforts to satisfy medication monitoring requirements; liaise with the administrative team in regard to patient discharge information and clinical letters to perform medication reconciliation
Respond to medication queries from patients and staff, take appropriate action
Systems
Contribute to the review and development of repeat prescribing protocols /Standard Operating Procedures to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of repeat prescribing
Provide advice to GP's, staff and patients in changes to prescribing, to support the improvement of prescribing safety, quality and cost effectiveness.
Participate in medication audits and Quality Improvement Projects.
Plan, develop and support the introduction of new working processes to optimise the quality of prescribing.
Work with PCN prescribing and medication management projects as appropriate

Pay: 27,000.00-29,000.00 per year
